Join the North Adams Chamber of Commerce for an in-person event at Freight Yard Pub on Wednesday, May 4. Learn about upcoming events happening in the community this summer and how Northern Berkshire businesses should prepare. Connect and network with new and existing community leaders and business professionals. Sponsored by Adams Community Bank.

WallaSauce Pop-Up

The new pop-up starts today 4/28 at Greylock Works with up-cycled clothing from local makers WallaSauce! Check out their stuff and browse the halls of gWorks. Pop-up runs for two weeks.

Wallasauce’s goal is to give second lives to materials by creating individualized products, while also challenging what is considered “trash” in the current state of our disposable society.

Check out Still Life, The Break Room, Berkshire Cider, and The Distillery at Greylock Works while you’re at it!

Berkshire Teacher & Social Worker Appreciation Day

Saturday, April 30, 10 am–5 pm

MASS MoCA invites Berkshire teachers and social workers—and anyone who works in the schools and social service organizations—to a free day of joy, creativity, and community with their families. Enjoy the galleries and special activities designed to make you feel our collective gratitude for your hard work each and every day, especially over the past two years, including a performance by Supaman with special remarks by Massachusetts First Lady Lauren Baker.

May Mapping Forum

Wednesday, May 11 | 5 p.m.

Join us at 85 Main Street, in the Terra Nova space, for an "all hands on deck" input session to inventory our community assets, collaborations, and partnerships. We want your help identifying and updating who's doing what in the community and who is or could be collaborating on common goals and missions.

This will be our first in-person-only forum since 2020. Please mask up if that makes you most comfortable.

The North Adams Mayor's Fitness Challenge returns this June!

NbCC is looking for local businesses interested in partnering with us for this month-long event.

For example, if your business is a restaurant, could you have a Mayor’s Fitness Challenge Special, or highlight a “healthy” dish for a week or for the month? If your business is a gym or centered around active living, can we partner to promote classes with a free pass/voucher or discount for the month? Can your business provide a mental wellbeing service such as a class on planting herbs, book circle discussion or something creative to bring community in your doors while focusing on physical, mental and nutritional health?

Youth Works Program

For eligible Berkshire County youth

YouthWorks is a subsidized employment program designed to provide low-income teens and young adults, 14 – 25 years of age with their first employment experiences, work readiness training, and the skills to find and keep an unsubsidized job.

YouthWorks provides a structured and consistent program, allowing young participants to receive a paid internship.

Mandatory Work Readiness Training – Signal Success Curriculum 15 -25 hours PAID
Work Experience – pay $14.25 per hour Minimum 125 hours
Year-Round program: Ages 16 -25, Start date October 18th – May 31st
Summer Program: Ages 14-25, Start Date June 27th– August 26th

MCLA Senior Art Show

Join us in person for an opening reception on Friday, May 6th from 5-6:30 pm as we celebrate the work of MCLA Senior Art Majors in an exhibit hosted by Gallery 51.

This year's artists will be alumni from the classes of 2020 and 2021 who did not have an opportunity to show their work in Gallery 51, as well as the art majors from the graduating class of 2022. Refreshments will be served. Advance registration is appreciated but not required.

Eagle & Main Corner Buildings

Andrew Fitch, the new owner of 117 Main St. and 3-5 Eagle St., plans to undergo a substantial renovation to support a new eatery in the building’s lower level. Until then he welcomes art installations or live music for every First Friday moving forward.

Savvy Celebration

Join Jessica Sweeney at her new store, Savvy Hive – 53 Main Street on May 6th from 5 pm-9 pm for a grand opening. Savvy Hive started in May 2021 at Berkshire Emporium and has since grown as its own shop on Main Street.

Sweeney plans to sell secondhand clothing, handmade and eco-friendly items, and products made within about a 100-mile radius of North Adams, including handmade kid’s toys and handmade and hand-designed clothing. She also offers small business consulting and plans to use a portion of the store as a co-working and consulting space.
