North Adams Holiday Lights Walk

Over 20 businesses and artist created holiday displays in their windows or in vacant storefronts. LumiNAMA is an initiative to brighten up downtown North Adams during the holiday season and drive foot traffic to local businesses.

Registrants have entered their displays for three different awards. Cast your vote for your favorite display here.

Plaid Friday and Small Business Plaidurday

Plaid Friday and Plaidurday encourage you to shop local this holiday season. Our local businesses go beyond providing a place to shop. They are community centers that give our towns life and character and they need our support!

Plaid Friday was created in Oakland, California in 2009, and was adopted throughout New England in 2010. North Adams began promoting Plaid Friday and “Plaidurday”, shopping locally the Saturday after Thanksgiving, in 2021.

FIRST Fridays

A few highlights of the festivities include a reading of “The Night Before Christmas” by Mayor Jennifer Macksey at the Bear & Bee Bookstore at 5 pm, a bell ringer concert at Terra Nova Church at 7 pm, make your own s’mores at the firepit at the First Congregational Church, and a free carriage ride by McKay Farm.

Williamstown Annual Holiday Walk

December 2-4

Williamstown will be filled with holiday sounds and spirit featuring festivities with traditional New England flair, including old-fashioned caroling, horse-drawn carriage rides, the annual ReinDog Parade, Penny Social, a visit with Santa & Mrs. Claus, tree lighting, and much more.

Massachusetts Cultural Council

Gaming Mitigation - funding to performing art centers affected by casino gaming in Massachusetts. Office hours: Various dates. Deadline: Dec. 8, 2022.

Festivals & Projects - $2,500 grants to support publicly-available cultural activities. Info session: Nov. 8. Deadline: Dec. 15, 2022.

Cultural Facilities Fund - grants supporting the sound planning and development of cultural facilities. Office hours: Thursdays. Deadline: Feb. 2, 2023.
